Main Hall

Our spacious main hall is perfect for large events, celebrations and sports activities.

  • It’s fully accessible, with easy wheelchair access and an audio loop.
  • We can lay the hall out to suit your needs, from theatre style to dining tables, with raised staging available.
  • Chairs, staging and tables are provided at no extra cost.
  • There’s a dressing room area at the rear of the hall and a professional PA system.
  • There are blinds fitted to all windows, allowing you to create the atmosphere you want, day or night.
  • High ceiling and specially designed flooring for sports use, with courts marked out for badminton.
  • French doors open out from the hall directly onto the covered porch area at the front of MMVI, with access also to the smoking area behind the venue.

Your room hire fee for the main hall includes free use of the kitchen for making refreshments. If you’d like to use it for hot-food catering, there’s an additional fee of £10.

If another group has booked the Robson room at the same time, you will need to share the bar area and kitchen. To have exclusive use of all the Institute’s facilities, please book the main hall and Robson room.

The hall is available to book in 5-hour slots :

  • 8am to 1pm
  • 1pm to 6pm
  • 6pm to midnight

Please make sure you book enough time to set up before your event and clear up afterwards, if relevant.

We can sometimes accommodate one-hour ongoing bookings but please contact us directly to discuss your needs.

We have very flexible payment options to suit your organisation:
